RARE first part of this chronicle of D. Sebastião written by José Pereira Baião under the pseudonym of D. Manuel de Menezes. According to Inocêncio, a second part was published up to p. 169, but of which he only knew three copies. Due to the criticism he suffered, the author interrupted the publication, reformulating the text in a new work that he titled “Portugal cioso e Lastimado…”.
