First edition of this extremely important contemporary work from the beginnings of the Portuguese discoveries. Gaspar Correia went to India when he was still young in 1512, then returned to Portugal where he remained until 1529. He returned to the East on a second trip in which he proposed to write a history of India and its conquest, then starting a journey through the Portuguese domains to collect information there. . He died around the year 1561. Rare and sought after.
