Important monthly whose main purpose was to strengthen relations between Portugal and Brazil, as can be seen from the presentation note by João de Barros: “Above all – the aim is to create an organ of reciprocal approximation, in which translation and express the energies, the ambitions, the ideas of the two peoples […] however, only one motive guided us – Paulo Barreto and me – and a motive of moral order: – to rise to perfect and loving knowledge of their tendencies and their efforts to both nationalities. Nothing more. It's too little? Is very? The Future will tell.” In this space, this lofty purpose was achieved with the collaboration of eminent personalities from the world of culture in both countries. In addition to the literary, historical, political, social and cultural aspects, it offered a prominent place to the visual arts, reproducing paintings and drawings by Alberto de Sousa, Almada Negreiros, Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, José Malhoa, José Pacheco, Castelau, António Soares. Its issues also include texts by Afonso Lopes Vieira; António Sérgio; Aquilino Ribeiro; Reis Chamber; Camilo Pessanha; Guerra Junqueiro; Jaime Cortesão; Leonardo Coimbra; Raul Proença and Teixeira Pascoaes, among others.
