THIRD EDITION of the Rules and Statutes of the Order of Santiago. Published for the first time in 1504, printed in Setúbal, the work had a new edition in 1540, by Germão Galharde, of which only a few copies are known, and was later reprinted in 1542 by him. This edition was completely reformulated because the 1509 edition "was not authentic because it was not taken from the original […] and because it also seemed necessary to amend some statutes" [cf. D. Manuel]. Rare and valuable.
