Ossia Ragguaglio della Navigazione alle Indie Orientali per la Via d’ Occidente fatta dal Cavaliere Antonio Pigafetta Patrizio Vicentino Sulla Squadra del Capit. Magaglieanes negli anni 1519-1522. Ora pubblicato per la prima volta, tratto da un Codice MS. della Biblioteca Ambrosiana di Milano e Corredato di note da Carlo Amoretti. Con un Trattato di Navigazione dello stesso autore. FIRST edition of the 16th century manuscript text found in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. The work describes Magellan’s circumnavigation journey and is illustrated with 9 vignettes in the text with maps, portraits of native people and animals, 2 fold-out maps, the first with the route of the trip and the second with the Philippines and Moluccas and 4 color plans of the regions of Patagonia, Moluccas, the islands of Zubu and Matu in the Botteo region and another with the Ladrones Islands reproducing the drawings from the manuscripts. Very rare.
