One of the most esteemed editions of the complete works of Luís de Camões. Based on the Hamburg edition of 1834, Lisbon edition of 1843 and Paris edition of 1846, it is “considered to be very correct and in conformity with the former” (Inoc., V, p. 266). The first volume contains: catalog of editions of Os Lusíadas, catalog of translations of Lusíadas, the epic poem, stanzas overlooked and omitted by Camões, various lessons, spelling differences between the two editions of 1572, errors in the two editions and their comparison, and a dictionary of proper names. The second volume contains: the sonnets, eclogues, redondilhas and other compositions. The third volume contains: the three comedies, two letters, works attributed to Camões and the life of the poet. Rare and treasured.
