FIRST Edition of one of the rarest and most interesting works on the Peninsular War. Major Moyle Sherer, an English officer, was sent to Portugal in 1809. His regiment was involved in the battles of Albuera, Arroyomolinos, and Vitoria. During the Battle of Maya, in the summer of 1813, he was taken prisoner and sent to France where he remained for two years. The work begins with his stay in Lisbon, with references to Sintra, Queluz, Santarém, Abrantes, Galician, Niza, Portalegre, Serra da Estrela, Bussaco, Campo Maior, Vila Viçosa, Elvas, etc.
