Repertoire of Orders of the Day for the years 1813, 1815 and 1817 issued by Marshal William Carr Beresford (1768-1854), an English soldier who began his connection to Portugal when he was sent by Prince D. João to occupy Madeira, preventing the French occupied it. In 1809, he was appointed Generalissimo of the Portuguese Army, whose cadres were disorganized after the Junot invasion. The Beresford Orders of the Day had the force of law, according to a royal charter of November 11, 1811. Inocencio refers to a “Compilation of the Orders of the Day” published by the Royal Printing between 1811 and 1816. RARE.
