D. Luís de Meneses (1632-1690), Commander of the Order of Christ, General of Artillery and Treasurer of D. Pedro II whose side he took during the palace intrigues for the deposition of D. Afonso VI, was nicknamed in his time with Portuguese Colbert because of his passion for the industrial arts and the impetus he gave them in Portugal. This extremely important coeval source from the Restoration War deals with that problem and its events up to 1668, the year of the signing of peace with Castile. First edition. Rare and treasured.
