FIRST EDITION, VERY RARE. It is perhaps the most important work by Jeróniom de Corte Real. Dedicated to D. Sebastião, it is a poetic composition with twenty-one songs celebrating the military achievements of D: João de Mascarenhas during the siege suffered by the Portuguese fleet in Diu, in 1546. Printed in 1574, the work already circulated in the handwritten form since 1569, which includes the codex illustrated by the author himself and which exists in the National Archive of Torre do Tombo. The second edition was only published in the 18th century, in 1784 by Simão Tadeu Ferreira.
