Second edition published in the same year as the first. The work contains a set of letters to and from John Moore and several journal entries the general kept about his military operations. Compiled by his brother, this book is one of the most vivid and interesting accounts of military operations during the Peninsular War. John Moore (1761-1809) was an important military commander during the peninsular war with the French, having died in the battle of A Coruña in 1809. The work is illustrated with two folding maps, the first with the plan of action of the British troops in A Coruña and a second from the Iberian Peninsula with the movements of columns of British troops. Rare.
