French edition of the most important work by Jorge de Montemor, Portuguese poet and playwright. Born in Montemor-o-novo, c. 1520, was court musician of Philip II, poet and playwright. All his literary work was written in Castilian. First published in 1559, this Diana was the first pastoral work written in Spanish, having a strong influence on the literature of its time. Rare.
