Edition published in the same year as the Paris, Liege and Frankfurt editions, containing a total of 11 prints. A friend and disciple of Voltaire, Jean François Marmontel (1723-1799), at the beginning of his career, was the author of some tragedies, operas and some minor stories. In 1777, he published his work on the Incas in which Las Casas was the main defender of the Indians. Mamontel was also one of the main authors of the literary articles in the 'Encyclopédie'. Rare.
